VW fun in Philadelphia

Last October, we traveled to visit some friends up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  I say friends, but we have all known each other since childhood, so it is more like visiting family.  Monica, who owns a ’71 Karmann Ghia convertible, and I have a mutual love of Volkswagens and shared many VW adventures, shows, and wrenching parties over the years.  In addition to spotting a couple of VW’s on the street, we found her house well-stocked with VW toys.

We didn't even get settled in before we spotted this Vanagon camper just down the street from the house.

This beetle clock was my favorite.

Saw this on the way to Sunday breakfast. A "feature" bug.

Of course, we still had to spend a little time in the Ghia even though the weather confined us to the garage.!

  1. HA! I don’t realize how many bugs I have until I see them all lined up like that. 🙂 That clock is a favorite of mine, too. And that “feature” license plate still makes me laugh!
